Levi: «Our football is an attacking one»

Anyone who expected a Maccabi Haifa who travelled to Torino with the intention of limiting the damages would have had to change his idea, at least after listening to coach Elisha Levi who addressed the press conference together with goalkeeper Nir Davidovitch (photo) and team veteran Alon Harazi.

The Maccabi coach knows of the difficulties his team will probably be facing but he is ready to try his chances.

«We are doing very well in our championship. In the Champions League we are still with no points but I don’t think we deserve this. We are worth more and tomorrow we want to show this against a great team like Juventus».

The Israeli team arrived in Torino without a number of important players such as the suspended Kayal and injured Golasa but most of all without the influenza hit Katan, the player considered to be the champion of the group.

These absences Levi intends to overcome with other weapons: «Those who will play instead of them will make themselves worth it. Our team plays attacking football and this is what helped us qualify to the Champions League.

We like to attack, independently of whether we have two or three strikers. Juventus will have to win to go ahead but this applies also to us. For this reason we will play to win while trying to remain concentrated throughout the match».

Maccabi will be facing a Juventus in search of a victory and the Israeli side knows this. Goalkeeper Davidovitch who tomorrow will be captain tomorrow in the absence of Katan, is ready for the match and for a particular encounter:

«We know that recently they did not win one or two matches in the championship, but I don’t think Juve are that bad. Matches like this are exciting and for this reason we want to give our best and make life hard for the bianconeri. Buffon? He is absolutely the best goalkeeper in the world. It will be a pleasure to be on the same field as him».

For Darazi, the Del Piero of Maccabi, seeing his long relationship with the Israeli team, a a match against Juventus is a pearl in a long career:

«We will be playing against a great team which will have the public behind him but we will not start off as the defeated side and we know we can win. Since we do not always make it to the Champions League we have less experience and for this reason we will have to try to be concentrated from the very start».
